We facilitate shifts in perception, awaken a sense of purpose, and foster the skills and conditions needed to regenerate tourism.

Meet the FTR Members

Regenerative Tourism Facilitators (FTRs) are professionals who have completed a process of training, practice, and in-depth study of the Global Regenerative Tourism Initiative’s methodology. More than simply sharing knowledge, their purpose is to guide people, organizations, and destinations through the transition toward a form of tourism that strengthens life, local identity, and community well-being.

Each FTR member is part of an international community committed to putting the principles of Regenerative Tourism into action. Working across diverse countries and contexts, they foster learning processes, facilitate experiences, and help expand a collaborative network that seeks to transform how we envision and develop tourism—always drawing on the unique essence and potential of each territory.

HOW DO I APPROACH REGENERATION?
Regeneration grounds me in my purpose and sustains me through community. It is my map back to nature. I approach it with hope, fascinated by the depth of learning it brings to my life. It guides me to lead consciously, placing life and well-being at the center; inspires me to remain creative; and provides the framework for developing both the organization and its experiences.

Manuel Miroglio

México – Conferencista Internacional, Capacitador, Investigador y Coach en Turismo Regenerativo.

Master en Ingeniería turística (Universidad Sorbona París III), Master en Gestión del Turismo Sostenible (Universidad de la Cooperación Internacional). Certificado en Diseño de Experiencias Regenerativas. Iniciativa Global de Turismo Regenerativo en México.

HOW DO I APPROACH REGENERATION?
First, we need to define what it means to approach regeneration… I walk and cycle every day. I read research articles on regenerative tourism and keep up with relevant initiatives, developments, and events, sharing them when appropriate.

Murielle Coppin

HOW DO I APPROACH REGENERATION?
I live a lifestyle rooted in respect and love for Mother Earth. I live next to a nature reserve, where I immerse myself in its beauty by walking or mountain biking. I avoid plastic and do not eat meat or processed foods. I buy directly from producers at organic markets and shops, and I have my own vegetable garden and chickens. When traveling with Malinali Travel, we strive to travel with zero waste and foster meaningful encounters with nature, Mexico’s Indigenous peoples, and various regenerative projects. As part of our social and environmental responsibility, we created the Maya-be collective, through which we organize workshops and excursions for young people from several communities, with the aim of recognizing, conserving, and regenerating their cultural and natural heritage.

Vanesa Ccahua

HOW DO I APPROACH REGENERATION?
My journey toward regeneration is an intimate and ongoing experiential initiation into self-discovery and holistic learning, creating opportunities for me to contribute to and serve life itself at the personal, collective, and systemic levels. Drawing on my academic and professional experience, I explore tourism and the potential of a biocentric approach through emerging wisdom that meaningfully integrates ancestral, contemporary scientific, technological, and experiential knowledge, among others, in pursuit of resilient innovation.

Annie Young

HOW DO I APPROACH REGENERATION?
For me, connecting with nature every day is essential, and I am fortunate to live in an area surrounded by tropical vegetation. I devote at least ten minutes each day to meditation, which helps me maintain my mental and emotional well-being. In my professional role at APTSO, I strive to learn from and implement the regenerative practices of both our local and international partners. This enables us to adapt and continually renew our skills and perspectives. I approach regeneration by listening to and learning from the knowledge and wisdom of local communities.

Armando Vásquez

México – EO Oactli Tours y Creador del Agaveturismo como Estrategia de Regeneración Biocultural.

HOW DO I APPROACH REGENERATION?
I found my way to regeneration when the glamour of grand hotels stopped dazzling me and began to hurt. Amid polished hallways, I came to understand how the land was losing its voice, culture was becoming a commodity, and the Earth was giving more than it received. It was not an escape, but a return. I went back to my community to listen, learn, and remember that tourism should not conquer, but care. There, I understood that my profession was not merely a livelihood, but a responsibility. Regeneration did not arrive as a trend; it came as a necessity—like a whisper from the Earth saying, “If you take from me, give life back.” Since then, I have walked a path of planting where others extract, listening where others impose, and learning that regeneration is not a destination, but a journey undertaken with humility.

DISCOVER OUR INNOVATIVE METHODOLOGIES

FLOWMAP Methodology

The purpose of this tool is to reach people across all cultures, beliefs, and ideals through tourism, using archetypal, symbolic, and practical language to create a shared understanding that supports the development of regenerative capacities and practices in every area influenced by tourism; thereby creating new ways of understanding and practicing tourism.

This tool enables us to imagine, think, and act in fractal, holistic, and evolutionary ways. It invites us to move beyond a mechanistic, linear, and finite view of the organizations, activities, and destinations where tourism takes place.

Through a bio-anthropocentric perspective, we seek to understand human beings and nature as a unified, interdependent whole. We recognize that the qualities found in nature also exist within human beings, and vice versa. Just as human beings possess thoughts, feelings, actions, and a physical body, living organisms and organizations also embody these dimensions of being.

DESIGN LOGBOOK Methodology

This tool invites designers to develop their capacity to feel, observe, and design for co-evolution toward the full potential of the place and its culture, the organization, and the individual. It provides the necessary steps and space to record your research and field notes, bringing insights together, synthesizing them, and creating regenerative experiences.

The purpose of regenerative experience design is to co-create deep connections and foster the integration of local communities, travelers, and nature. By revealing each place’s unique identity—its ethics and aesthetics—it enables healthy, symbiotic, and enduring relationships between people and nature, allowing them to thrive and fulfill their evolutionary potential.

The art of experience design lies in understanding the essence of a place deeply and holistically, recognizing how it is expressed in harmony with the tourism project’s deeper purpose, and aligning both to create a meaningful value proposition for visitors.
